ABFA COMMITTEE
ROOM PARENTs
Want to get more involved inside your child’s classroom?
We are looking for enthusiastic parents to serve as a room parent for their child’s classroom this year. This role is a wonderful way to get engaged in your child’s educational experience and help create lasting positive memories for the students.
What to expect
- This should be fun! This is all the little extra’s for our kids that get them excited at school. This is about jumping in to help build up your school community. When parents get involved, schools rise!
- One parent can fill the role for each classroom or multiple parents can team up to help each other.
- There is no set time commitment! Each teacher prefers a little something different, so you will work together to create a plan that works for their needs. New ideas/experiences are always welcome, or we can provide you the guidance you need to get going.
- Typical tasks include: Organize in-class parties, coordinate volunteers, collect donations, plan any teacher appreciation gifts, and anything else you dare to dream up!
- No prior experience is needed- just a big heart and a little time here and there throughout the year!
HEADS UP
A current MSDLT Volunteer Background Form is required to be inside any classroom. Form must be submitted every school year. Ensure yours is up to date. Please complete a few days before you arrive at school to allow time for processing. Thank you in advance.
MEET peers & parents
Being a room parent is a great way to serve your kids children’s school and get hands on with the kids in the classroom.
HAVE FUN!
We have some fun events for students in the classroom that you can help plan and participate in.
GIVE BACK
Show your children what giving back and community is really all about!
