The ABFA is the Parent-Teacher Association for Amy Beverland Elementary School in Lawrence, Indiana. The purpose of the Amy Beverland Family Association is to promote cooperation and understanding between parents, students, and faculty at Amy Beverland Elementary School. This mission is achieved through exchanging ideas, experiences, information and other matters of mutual interest and concern, and to support and improve the school environment through positive actions.

The ABFA encompasses many different areas and is a way for families to become more connected with the school while simultaneously enriching their child’s elementary school experience.  Amy Beverland has had a long standing tradition of excellent family involvement.  In addition to the amazing staff of the school, the family involvement is one of the many things that makes ABE “the best school in the whole wide world”.

We encourage everyone to get involved in some way throughout the year There are no costs or formal membership procedures to being involved,  just show up, help out when your schedule permits and have FUN!  Rest assured you will meet plenty of friendly people who are looking to support their children’s school, just as you are.  There are plenty of opportunities for you to get involved – please feel free to pick one or as many as you would like.  There are quite a few “extras” that our ABE Stars get to participate in, but these events CANNOT happen without volunteer support.

The ABFA is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. As such, the ABFA qualifies as an exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The ABFA is comprised of an executive board along with several standing committees.
